Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do hourly work?
We have chosen not to. The firm is built on the principle that all of our clients benefit most from a comprehensive financial life plan, and that the only way we can give the best advice possible is through that process.
Why do you only manage money for clients with a financial life plan?
The firm is built on the principle that all of our clients benefit most from a comprehensive financial life plan, and that we can only manage your assets effectively by understanding what you are hoping to achieve in life. Our strategy and approach could be different for two people with a similar balance sheet, based upon what we know about those clients.
Do I have to be local to hire you?
Absolutely not! The beauty of the internet is in full swing here. We are able to provide all of our services digitally, so feel free to reach out.
Your planner is young, does he know what he is doing?
Of course. Ian is currently pursuing his CFP, AFC, and ChFC simultaneously. Earning these designations does take time, but wanting to make a difference does not wait! If we ever have a question about how to best advise you, rest assured we will tell you that and do our research.
I would love to see videos about…
Please send an email with that feedback! The goal of the videos is to get people started on making a difference for themselves financially, so it’s important that they are about interesting and current topics. If all the series does is act as the first place people look to start their research, it’s done something right.
How can I hire you?
Schedule a meeting. The first meeting is complementary and acts as an opportunity for the planner and client to get to know each other. If it seems like a good fit, you will be quoted a fee and given next steps.
I am interested in this level of service, but your firm might not be the right fit.
If you are not an ideal client, no hard feelings. We suggest a complimentary first meeting, of course, but we also know we won’t fit everyone. Look for other similar service professionals by searching for fee-only financial life planners. They’re rare, but they exist.
